There must be an aesthetic balance between the nose and the chin tip in the facial profile (Profiloplasty). A receding chin (micrognathia) makes the nose appear larger than it is.
Treatment Methods
1. Chin Implant: Silicone or medpor implants are used to permanently enlarge the chin tip. The incision is made inside the mouth, leaving no external scar.
2. Sliding Genioplasty: The chin bone is cut, moved forward, and fixed with plates and screws.
3. Fillers: For those wanting a temporary solution, the chin tip can be defined using hyaluronic acid fillers (Jawline contouring).
Correcting the chin tip also reduces the appearance of jowls, providing a clearer facial line.
