It is often needed in revision cases.
Is it difficult?
It is technically more complex than primary surgery.
How long should I wait after my first surgery before a revision?
As a general rule, at least 12 months should pass since the previous operation. This time allows tissue swelling to fully resolve and the internal structure to settle into its final form. Operating earlier makes accurate assessment difficult because the tissues have not yet stabilized.
I am travelling from abroad. How many days should I stay in Istanbul?
For revision rhinoplasty, a stay of about 7 to 10 days is usually suitable. This covers the pre-operative examination, the surgery, and the first follow-up where the cast or splint is removed. It is best to arrange your return travel for after this final check-up.
Can an evaluation be done online before I arrive?
Yes, a preliminary assessment can be made from facial and nasal photographs taken at different angles, along with any reports from your previous surgery. This consultation helps outline a plan, but the final surgical decision is made only after an in-person examination and physical assessment.
When can I fly after the surgery?
Flying is generally approved 7 to 10 days after surgery, once the first follow-up and cast removal are complete. Because cabin pressure can increase swelling and discomfort in the early period, flying sooner is not advised without your doctor's clearance.
Is there an age limit for revision, and are the results permanent?
It can be performed on adults whose nasal development is complete and whose general health is suitable; there is no fixed upper age limit. The structure rebuilt with cartilage grafts provides a lasting solution, although the natural ageing process continues across the face as it would normally.
